La bellezza di Taormina è leggendaria e meritata. Scrittori, poeti, filosofi ne hanno fatto una destinazione turistica in voga già dal 18° secolo, e oggi è la meta più esclusiva e raffinata della Sicilia insieme a Panarea e Pantelleria. Sulla costa di Taormina troverete l’incantevole Isolabella, una piccola isola a pochi metri dalla riva, collegata alla terraferma da una sottile striscia di terra spesso coperta dalla marea. Per molti la spiaggia di Isolabella è la migliore della costa est e dell’isola.
La piccola località balneare proprio accanto a Taormina è Giardini Naxos, la quale ospita una bella spiaggia di sabbia pure. Escursioni giornaliere devono contenere il pittoresco borgo di Castelmola, arroccato sulla cima di una montagna che domina non solo Taormina ma tutta la costa ionica: il panorama è ancora più sorprendente da qui.
